About Dj
I’m King Steve, a DJ whose journey began in the 1980s, using music as a way to battle depression and bring light into dark times. Back then, I was mostly a bedroom DJ with a small local following, picking up the occasional gig while perfecting my craft. In 1995, tragedy struck when a house fire claimed lives and destroyed all my DJ equipment, forcing me to step away from the scene. Years later, in the digital age of controllers, I dipped my toes back in with a Numark controller, learning the new technology. But it wasn’t until 2010, when a close friend asked me to DJ his first housewarming BBQ, that my passion reignited—pushing me to invest in a full setup and truly return to what I love: moving people through music.
